"I was detecting around a celar hole where I had come up with some nice finds not too long ago and decided to try my luck on one side of the foundation. After search for a little while a had stumbled across what I thought to be a trash pit because of all the iron I was digging up. While fishing though all the noise I received a deep solid signal despite all the trash and upon extraction of the target I couldn't seem to locate it. Digging ever deeper I was almost convinced that it was a ghost signal from all the iron and was about to give up. At that point I took one more deep scoop full when I lost the signal in the hole. Upon further investigation I saw what seemed to be the edge of something in the pile beside my hole, and that's when I caught the first glimps of it...A beautiful 1810 US Militia Belt Plate with most of the silvering still intact. I was in awe"
